Edwin
was born 29 Oct 1849, and christened 26 Nov 1849 in Birmingham to
William Holmes and Caroline née Whateley.
In 1871, with his parents having died, he is staying with his brother William, working as a brush maker. He is still a brushmaker in 1881 in Worcester, marrying Sarah Ann Cam "Annie" in December 1884.
In 1891 he is a foreman brushmaker, and in 1901 manager of a brushmaking family, living in Green Place Worcester. Edwin died in Mar 1909. Sarah Ann died in March 1925.

Reginald and Winifred were sent ‘care’ parcels by the New York Holmeses, apparently letters were returned after the war.
